CURRENT RULE:
* It will be the responsibility of the Contestant to tie one rope to the saddle horn by a heavy string in such a manner as to allow the rope to break free from the saddle horn when the calf reaches the end of the rope. A WHITE flag is to be used by all breakaway contestants, flag must be tied within 6 inches of the end of the rope and must stay attached to the rope at the time the rope breaks free from the saddle horn or receive a no time. Field Judge to drop flag, stopping time, when the flag breaks free from the saddle horn.
PROPOSED CHANGE:

A WHITE, or any bright colored, flag is to be used by all breakaway contestants, flag must be tied within 6 inches of the end of the rope and must stay attached to the rope at the time the rope breaks free from the saddle horn or receive a no time. Field Judge to drop flag, stopping time, when the flag breaks free from the saddle horn.

CURRENT RULE:
* For a Stock Contractor to be eligible to bring stock to the AFR any and all accrued fines must be paid in full, or fine amount will be deducted from Stock Contractors AFR proceeds. Stock must be either owned or under a signed lease to an approved Stock Contractor and have bucked under a signed lease at either three (3) straight APRA rodeos or five (5) APRA co-approved rodeos. The Board will have the authority to amend this ruling if an agreement cannot be reached with the Stock Contractor
for the finals. The financial agreements with the Stock Contractor must be on par with the previous year.
* After the Stock Contractor qualifications for the AFR are met and in order for Rough Stock animals to qualify to go to the AFR, the following conditions must be met:
1) Bareback and Saddle Bronc – said animals must have had three (3) outs to qualify
2) Bulls must have had five (5) outs to qualify.
