Charlie McKnight, 72, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013 at Saint Vincent Medical Center, Jacksonville, Fla. Charlie was raised in Illinois. He began his rodeo career in the early 1960s, and managed several cattle ranches around the country. He came to the Northeast in 1974 from Florida to move to Milton, Delaware, where he helped begin and manage the King Cole Ranch for the Draper Canning Company. Charlie helped to promote team roping and worked as a pick-up man in the Northeast for several years in the 1970s. He also worked as the field flag judge at several large team roping competitions in the area before moving his family to Arkansas. His oldest son Brett is a team roper in Florida. Charlie is survived by his wife, Karen, and son, Brud, at 7300 Hwy. 215, Mulberry, AR 72942, and son Brett and his wife Misty, and grandchildren Bailey and Bryce, at 14023 Rollo Drive, Bryceville, FL 32009.
