This hotel is only 4 blocks from Boardwalk Hall and attached to Bally’s,
which is the location of the After Party for the Championship Awards
Presentations on Saturday night.

AFR39 General Contestant Information:

Online entries Monday, September 18th 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Books will be Tuesday, September 19th 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. More information to be announced.

•  Parking at Boardwalk Hall will be furnished with dirt for horses to be
housed on.

•  No stalls are provided; however, you will be permitted to setup your
own portable panels (10’ x 10’ maximum).

  • No dogs are permitted at AFR 40 at all.

• Entry fees for AFR 40 are $200.00 (Cash Only).  Entry fees will be
collected on October 20, 2017 during check in.

12′ x 12′ Stall $ 20.00/night
*Must provide own feed and hay, plus buckets.  Stalls are 12’x12′ panels setup inside building with nice dirt floor – would need to provide own shavings (if desired) and must clean up after yourself prior to leaving facility.* You can park your truck/trailer and stay overnight, however, there are no hookups. You will need a generator.

Ground Rules

  • A meeting of Contestants, and working personnel will be held in the indoor arena (section 104) Friday, November 11, 2016. ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY AND ANYONE NOT ATTENDING WILL BE ASSESSED A $50.00 FINE WHICH MUST BE PAID PRIOR TO COMPETING.
  • NO faded, holey, shredded jeans will be allowed. All shirts must be tucked in. We ask that you wear AFR 40 jackets and cowboy hats throughout the weekend.  People are excited you are in Atlantic City and we want you to help us promote this event in a positive manner. REMEMBER THIS IS YOUR FINALS – DRESS APPROPRIATELY.
  • A thirty (30) second time limit will be enforced for all contestants to begin their competition run from the time the arena is cleared until the contestant nods his/her head. After thirty (30) seconds, a $25 fine will be imposed which must be paid before the contestant will receive their next head of stock. (Judges may use their discretion concerning chute fighting stock at either end of the arena.)
  • Payoff will be by Cash.
  • Barrel Racing will be run in and run out
  • Three loops in the Team Roping
  • One loop in the Breakaway Roping, closed gate – lap timers will be used.
  • Jerkdown rule in effect – all cattle are considered jerked down if they are jerked straight over backwards, no matter how they land. A $100.00 fine will be imposed for a jerkdown.
  • A $200 fine will be imposed for any turnout other than injury.
  • No one will be allowed behind the chutes unless they are a contestant or working personnel without proper credentials. No one is allowed behind the chutes without proper credentials. All rough stock riders must have their ropes pulled by or have helpers that are contestants. No one is allowed behind the chutes without an armband.
  • No one is permitted to sit on chutes or roping boxes. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in a $50.00 fine.
  • A $50 fine will be assessed for not being present at the contestants meeting.
  • All fines incident with the Finals must be paid prior to competition after the fine was instituted.
  • No dogs are permitted at AFR 40 at all.
  • No alcoholic beverages will be allowed in or around the arena.
  • No cell phones will be allowed in the arena.
  • All contestants will be given (1)one All Access Pass for themselves
    and (1) one ticket per night for a companion. Any other companions (family
    members) need to purchase tickets.
  • Any misuse of All Access Passes will result in a $100.00 fine.
